{Engagement} Dustin & Becky

Dustin & Becky met in college, they had mutual friends, but never really hung out together until her sophomore year. One evening, she was walking back to her dorm and Dustin saw HER and offered to give me a ride (hehe, I bet they didn't know that it would lead to spending forever together).

THEN the pursuing started!!!!

Becky thought Dustin was cute, and he liked her too but didn’t want to get involved, as it was spring semester of his senior year. His roommate thought Becky was cute and he (the roommate) could see Becky was interested and pretended to be Dustin on AIM and would flirt with her! They eventually made plans to hang out just the two of them, and the rest is history! Becky had NO idea Jason initiated it until we were officially together!

I asked Dustin when he knew he was head over heels for his girl, Becky...he told me: "It didn’t take long, although I met Becky during my senior year at college and the most important part of that year was about making memories with great friends. My outlook on life changed by becky, she was awesome as my life changed and I was forced to grow up and become an adult I did it with becky she was fun, energetic and she brought out the very best in me."...an't that just adorable!

"He makes me laugh. He can tell the stupidest joke ever but he’ll tell it in just a way to make it the most hilarious thing . That’s probably why he loves me too. Because I laugh at all his dumb jokes.." -Becky

"The thing I love most about Becky is her smile. I could be having the worst day ever, but as soon as I see Becky with her smile, everything is instantly okay. She is truly my sunshine on a rainy day" -Dustin

...(then my favorite part)-THE ENGAGEMENT!!!! i LOVE awesome engagement stories. Here is Dustin's version of the engagement.

Dustin says: "The biggest decision of my life had just been made; to ask my girlfriend and college sweetheart to marry me. I had saved up for her dream ring, the one she did not ask me to buy because her friends had told her that it was too expensive. I then spent the next two months planning my proposal. Everything
had to be perfect and most of all I had to keep it a secret from the girl I had told everything to for the past 2 years.
She was convinced that this Saturday night would be just another double date with my buddy Aric and his girlfriend. On the drive up I pretended to receive a text from Aric and told my girlfriend that the other couple would be late. I said we might as well stop by a local park I knew since it was such a nice day. I used to live by this beautiful park earlier in our relationship, and we had visited there often. She reluctantly said yes; it was a nice day, but she was wearing high heels with a nice dress. I assured her it would be a short walk, and that we probably wouldn’t have another day this nice before winter settled in.
The park was just losing its fall color as we showed up. In the center of the park there was a bridge that overlooked a lily pond; unbeknownst to my girlfriend our trip over that bridge would change both of our lives forever. Earlier that day my friend Joel went to the park and hid a bottle with a message in it; he was now on the other side of the pond with his camera ready to capture the whole thing. As we approached I couldn’t find the bottle anywhere. My heart skipped more than a few beats, but soon enough I spotted it. At that point I told my girlfriend that I had a present for her and I pointed out the bottle, which was located at the foot of the bridge.
She reached down for the bottle, and grabbed the string that was attached to an old distressed piece of paper with burnt edges; the entire thing looked straight out of Pirates of the Caribbean. Becky excitedly pulled out the note and read the message in an Old English font “I have a question for you.” As she looked up, I was on one knee holding a ring box at the center of the bridge. I opened the box and said, “Becky I love you and I can’t imagine the rest of life without you. Will you marry me?” She ran and jumped into my arms saying “Yes!!!” The other visitors to the park started clapping and cheering for us, later I found out she was so over come with love she didn’t even hear them.
As soon as she calmed down, which took her quite a while, we went over to Joel and thanked him for taking pictures. I had never seen my fiancé happier. She immediately called her parents and some of her friends, as I whisked her back to my truck for the rest of the date. As we arrived at the next destination, my aunt and uncle’s house, she noticed a familiar car in the drive, remarking “hey that looks a lot like my parents car.” Then as we pulled in she cried out excitedly “That IS my parent’s car!” I had arranged for her parents living 5 states away to make the drive up to my aunt and uncles house. We had a huge family style feast with both sets of parents. It was an amazing meal finished off with my girlfriend’s favorite cheesecake from a restaurant that we now lived far away from. Soon after the meal was complete, my aunt excused Becky and me from the table so that we could complete the rest of the night. My fiancé said she couldn’t believe that there was more to the evening!
We started driving downtown, and stopped in front of a fancy hotel with valet parking. My fiancé asked me if we needed to check in, and I told her “Don’t worry about it, I already have a key”. I opened the door to our room, and she was greeted by a candle lit suite covered with rose petals on the bed and chocolates and champagne. She then turned around and told me, “This is just too perfect of a night.” I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with her!!"
SWEETEST STORY EVER!!!!
